TAC OIL AMW – Tackiness Agents

Characteristics

Tac-Oil AMW is a highly effective concentrate of polyisobutylene dissolved in white oil, which was developed to suppress the oil mist formation of cutting oils. This ability was proven in laboratory tests and practice. Besides this Tac-Oil AMW is used as tackifier in lubricants where too strong tackiness is not desired.

Application

The recommended concentration in mineral oil is between 0.5 – 2.0 wt.%, depending on the required performance. Tac-Oil AMW is preferably blended at 60°C – 80°C in slow motion (low shearing) blending device. The temperature stability of Tac-Oil AMW is about 150°C for limited time.

Storage

Tac-Oil AMW may be stored indoors in the sealed original package for a minimum of 12 months.

EMS 5190N-Product Emulsifier

Characteristics

EM 5190 N is an emulsifier package based on boron and di-ethanolamines and can be used for the formulation of semi-synthetic, low foaming, watermiscible coolants with a low content of mineral oil.

Emulsifier EM 5190 N is free of EDTA and contains biocides. The product does not contain formaldehyde releasers.

Application

50 wt.% EM 5190 N can be blended with 50 wt.% demineralised water. The blend yields a stable concentrate with a pH-value of 9.4 in a 5% dilution. A 3% emulsion in hard water of 180 ppm yields 0 corrosion in the filter paper chip test according to DIN 51 360/2.

Storage

Storage EM 5190 N can be stored safely indoors between +15°C and +30C in properly sealed original packages for a minimum of 6 months.

Calcium Sulfonate CA 400

CA 400 is an overbased calcium sulfonate, and EP/AW, and corrosion inhibitor component for use in corrosion preventives, metalworking fluids and lubricants. It is non staining and odour free. The product is also suited for use as TBN booster.

Application

CA 400 has high reserve basicity and therefore neutralizes corrosive acids. In corrosion preventives concentrations of 1-20% CA 400 can be used depending on the application. In metal forming operations for ferrous and non ferrous metals 5-10% are recommended. 20-30% CA 400 can be employed for heavy duty drawing operations. A combination with sulphur compounds may be useful.

Storage

Tightly closed drums can be stored indoors between 0°C and 40°C for a mini-mum of 12 months.

Sodium Sulfonate NA 480 T

Characteristics

NA 480 T is an oil soluble synthetic sodium sulfonate, manufactured by a special process to secure a consistent quality.
NA 480 T is effective as corrosion inhibitor, dispersant and emulsifier. (Corrosion protection increases by increasing mol. weight and the emulsifying properties decrease).

Application

Metalworking fluids, textile oil, cleaners, corrosion preventives, drawing com-pounds, emulsions, ore flotation, printing inks, paints etc.

Storage

Tightly closed drums can be stored indoors for a minimum of 12 months.

Sodium Sulfonate DM 466

Characteristics DM 466 is an oil soluble natural sodium sulfonate, manufactured by a special process to secure a consistent quality. DM 466 is effective as corrosion inhibitor, dispersant and emulsifier. (Corrosion protection increases with molecular weight and the emulsifying properties decrease.

Applications

Metalworking fluids, textile oil, cleaners, corrosion preventives, drawing com-pounds, emulsions, ore flotation, printing inks, paints etc.

Storage

Storage Tightly closed drums can be stored indoors between 0°C and 40°C for a minimum of 12 months.
