The micron ratings shown at various efficiency and beta ratio value levels were determined hrough laboratory testing, and can be used as a guide for selecting cartridges and estimating their performance.

Under actual field conditions, results may vary somewhat from the values shown due to the variability of filtration parameters. Testing was conducted using the single-pass test method, water at 3 gpm/10” cartridge.

Contaminants included latex beads, coarse and fine test dust. Removal efficiencies were determined using dual laser source particle counters.

FDA compliance
All polypropylene material used in manufacturing complies with the regulations of the FDA title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations Sections 174.5, 177.1520, and 177.1630, as applicable for food and beverage contact.

Resin Bonded filter cartridges

Resin Bonded filter cartridges are manufactured in South Africa to the highest international standards. They are produced using Polyester fibres of controlled diameter which are bonded together by a proprietary process using a phenolic resin.

The process used ensures that the filtration pores between the fibres are more open near the outer surface of the cartridge, and become progressively smaller towards the core of the cartridge. This graded density construction enables the cartridge to trap coarser particles near it’s outer surface, while finer particles are trapped nearer the core.

This provides the exceptionally good particle removal efficiency which is the outstanding feature of the “RRB” cartridge. In addition, the rigid construction also ensures that the cartridge will not deform under high operating pressure differentials.

This means that the Resin Bonded filter cartridges exhibit a consistent and unvarying micron rating throughout it’s life, and does not suffer from the deteriorating filtration efficiency and dirt unloading which occurs on cartridges of softer construction.

The use of grooves greatly increases the cartridge surface area, thereby extending even further, the Resin Bonded filter cartridges already superior service life.

HIP Filter Housing – for Doulton ceramic filter cartridges

In-line filters are highly robust as they are under water pressure all of the time. They were originally designed to be fitted to the mains cold water pipe underneath the kitchen counter.

In addition to being used in the home, FICL’s in-line filters have proved very popular within the water cooler industry. They are easy to incorporate into cooler plumbing.

Made from food grade acetyl and polyester, the HIP is a cost-effective and easy to use filter unit. It can be used either to filter all cold water running into the kitchen sink, or to provide filtered drinking water via a separate faucet. The HIP is fitted with one filter candle.

  • As standard the HIP takes filter candles which are 10 inches long, 2 inches in diameter, with a short mount.
  • A DIY kit is available with the HIP filter to enable easy fitting via a line piercing valve to 15mm copper pipes without the services of a plumber. The HIP DIY kit also provides all the fittings needed to install a separate drinking water faucet. For any other sizes of pipe or non-copper pipes, a plumber or specialised installer should be consulted
  • Both inlet and outlet are 3/8 inch push fit connections suitable for 3/8 flexible plastic pipe
  • When fitted with Sterasyl™ filter candles, the HIP will produce a flow rate of approximately 300 litres per hour at 3 bar pressure
  • The HIP can be fitted with Sterasyl™, Supercarb™, Ultracarb™ filter candles.
  • The installation instructions provided with the product should always be followed carefully.

HIS Filter Housing – Domestic water Filtration
